Spochan is short for "Sports Chanbara." Chanbara is the Japanese art of samurai sword play. It uses air swords, or inflatable swords, so you can hit your opponent all you want, without hurting him or her.

Spochan is already an official sport with festivals and championships taking place annually. This 2017, there are more than 1000 sportsmen in Japan. In August 2016, the 1st international Spochan event was held and 6 countries took part in it including Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Esponia and Japan.

"Spochan is one family!" This is the sport's motto. Everybody is part of the family when they train as well as when they rest. The SPOCHAN Festival 2017 was held in February 2017.
