Myōkō is a city located in Niigata Prefecture, surrounded in 5 mountains and one of which is Mount Myōkō. Mount Myōkō is in the city within the borders of the Myōkō-Togakushi Renzan National Park.

A group of professional skiiers have discovered a hidden gem in Japan. In a place where the snow can pile up up to 3 ft. overnight, Mount Myōkō is one of the best places in Japan to skii at.

Japan's northern regions are no secret to skiers but somehow, Myoko remains largely undiscovered. Also considering the fact that Myoko is about an hour's drive north of Nagano, site of the 1998 Olympic Winter Games.
