The Philippine team Gilas and the Japanese team Akatsuki Five battled it out in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
Japan lost by a mere 5 points to the Philippines. The best players of the game according to FIBA were Andre Blatche of Gilas scoring 18 points, and Makoto Hiejima of Akatsuki Five who shot 23 points.
The five players of the Japanese team were Makoto Hiejima, Ryusei Shinoyama, Joji Takeuchi, Daiki Tanaka, and Ira Brown.
