The official handover of the Olympic flag took place at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Olympic Summer Games. It was followed by an 8-minute show in which Tokyo, Japan was introduced to other countries as the next host.

The 8-minute performance shows the creativity of the Japanese people. They started the performance by showing the Japanese flag in the middle. The Japanese Prime Minister later on appeared in the stadium from a green pipe dressed as Super Mario.

Japan really invested a lot of effort for this amazing closing ceremony performance.
