The Japanese National Road Race Championships is an annual race conducted under the auspices of the Japan Cycling Federation. The race has three divisions, Men's, Women's and the Under 23 category.
In the 2015 Japan Road Race Championship, Hiromi Kaneko, Mayuko Hagiwara and Eri Yonamine stood out among all the women competing for the Women's Division. But amongst the three, Mayuko Hagiwara was the fastest. Hagiwara earned the gold medal for the 2015 race at age 28, representing Wiggle High5 Pro Cycling.
Wiggle High5 is a British professional cycling team based in Belgium. Hagiwara is the only Japanese in the team roster alongside Swedish silver olympic medalist, Emma Johansson, German professional cyclist, Claudia Lichtenberg and more.
