The Tosa Inu or the Japanese Mastiff is another rare breed of dog from the Land of the Rising Sun. The name of the dog came from Tosa, or presently known as the Kochi Prefecture, where the dog has been bred. The dog has actually been trained into a fighting dog, but this has caused anomalies in the breed. Because of this, the Tosa Inu has actually been banned in a number of countries, namely, Australia, Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Denmark, Fiji, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Turkey, Tunisia, United Kingdom.
