2D Moire Animation, or commonly known as slit animation, makes use of images printed on acetate and paper. It is an optical illusion created by parallel lines that crosses each other in the field of view.
This effect can be used to make looping animations and the only materials that you’ll need are a black mat board, metal straight edge and an ex-acto (or any cutting tools), glue, desktop inkjet printer, photo paper, acetate, and a masking tape.
There are plenty of instructional materials online so creating your own art with this technique is just one-click away!
