Japan actually has six original and kawaii or cute breeds of dogs. The smallest of them all is the Shiba Inu or the Shiba dog. The male shibas grow to just a maximum of 43 centimeters or around 17 inches. The females are even smaller with just a maximum of 41 centimeters or 16 inches. They weigh up to a maximum of 10 kilograms or 22 pounds for males and 8 kilograms for females. The Shiba inus are said to have an independent nature and can be left alone. But due to this trait, they can also show aggression.
