Lunch break in Japan is not really a 'break time' wherein you eat on a dining table and get away from your studying self. In fact, Japanese schools had students operate their lunch time as an educational period, just like their usual class subjects such as Math and English. They eat in their classrooms, have health checks prior to eating, and get their food from the school kitchen with an assistance from their class teacher.
Cafeteria Culture visited an elementary school in Saitama to observe their lunch period habit.
