Don't be fooled, the handpan is not used for cooking! It is actually a group of musical instruments.

Handpans are played using the hands and are tuned with different notes, Formerly, the handpan was known as the Hang and was invented in Switzerland. Hang means "hand" in the dialect of the creators Felix Rohner and Sabrina Scharer. Since the Hang was not readily available and the creators wanted buyers to send in hand-written letters to justify their purchase, European instrument makers started to make their own versions of it, giving birth to the handpan.
