Meet the future of pop art, Chiho Aoshima.
"I was bored to death, even when I was hanging out with my friends. I was eager to create something but didn’t know what to create, every day time passed so slowly and I felt like I was going to die," the artist confesses in an interview with Saatchi Art.
Chiho Aoshima is a Japanese pop artist, best known for her surreal digital art revolving on colorful depictions of ghosts, demons, schoolgirls, and landscapes. Despite having no formal training, Aoshima's love to create compelled her to learn Adobe Illustrator on her own. Now, she is an established artist and member of Takashi Murakami's Kaikai Kiki Collective. Her works, "City Glow" and "Paradise, have been featured on the Little Boy project where her digital paintings decorated the Union Square subway in New York.
