Maru holds the record for being the most watched animal on Youtube in 2017.

Maru is a 9-year old Scottishfold cat. His owner took videos and pictures of Maru ever since he was still a kitten. But the owner did not expect that such media would go viral, especially the one where Maru jumped and fit himself in small boxes.

The said video had been watched for 325,704, 506 times as of September 22, 2016. You can imagine how much views it has now, more than half a year later.

The Guinness World of Records awarded the certificate to Youtube's most watched animal to Maru on March 24, 2017.
