Lizuna is a type of least weasel living in Hokkaido, the northernmost prefecture in the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan.
This kind of weasel prefers to live in cold areas and their bodies are actually suited to the low temperature. Since Lizuna in Hokkaido has white fur they were able to blend well to their environment, which is snowy and has the same color sa the Lizuna.
According to some Japanese Folklore, these weasels are harbingers or announcers or signs of misfortune. Because of this, people who randomly see them in the woods become afraid of them.
