When the rest of the world is making emoticons, Japan would surely not be left behind. The kaomoji is a set of popular Japanese emoticons composed of punctuation marks. Kaomoji is composed of two Japanese words. Kao means "face," while moji means "character." Japanese kaomojis, and other emojis are consiedered to be one of the best ways to express emotions. In Western emoticons, the mouth tells the emotion of the icon while in kaomojis, they eyes tell it all. The Japanese believe that the eyes portray the soul, so they invest so much in the eyes, just like also in manga or anime eyes.
