Utada Hikaru is the Japanese-American singer behind the phenomenal song First Love. The album, to where it belonged to, having the same album title, has once been hailed as the best-selling Japanese language album of all time, having distributed over 8 million copies in Japan alone. This jpop album, being her debut one, made history not only in the Japanese music industry but also in the Asian music industry as well, by being the the number one best-selling album of the time of its release in 1999.

In her international albums, she only used the name Utada. She had 12 number one singles on the Oricon singles charts.
