The band's name, coming from two English words, rad and wimp, signify combination of the two: excellent weakling and superlative coward. They are popular all throughout Japan because of their high level of musicianship and their effortless versatility, being able to cross over various genres. They have become one of the most popular rock bands in Japan with album sales constantly reaching over a hundred thousand, and selling concert tickets out instantly.
