Luna Sea is a Japanese rock band founded in 1989 in Kanagawa Prefecture. Luna Sea is one of the most successful rock band that made to the list of most influential Japanese rock bands. Their members include Jun "J" Onose (bass guitar), Ryuichi Kawamura (Lead Vocalist), Shinya Yamada (Drum kits), Yasuhiro "Inoran" Inoue (Rhythm guitar) and Yasuhiro "Sugizo" Sugihara (violin and lead guitar). Luna sea adopts the Visual kei movement which is characterized by flamboyant costumes, elaborate hairstyles, make-up and sounds related or influenced by the heavy metal, glam rock and punk rock.
Reportedly, the rock band talents were discovered by Hideto Matsumoto (X Japan lead guitarist). Later the band was signed to the Extasy Records where the group released their debut album in 1991. In the mid-1990s and 1996, Luna Sea made performances that filled up the Tokyo Dome. On December 26, 27, the band decided to disband after two concerts. But again in 2018, Luna Sea performed two concerts on December 22-23, 2018. Their discographies include Eden, Style, Lunacy, Luv, Image, Luna Sea, Promise, Tonight, Gravity, I for you, Desire, Style, In my dream (with Shiver) and Believe.
