The 12th single of the Japanese band, Glay, was entitled "However." It was released on August 6, 1997. This single sold more than one million copies and debuted at number one spot at the Oricon charts for five consecutive weeks. 

"However" was used as the ending song for the TV drama aired on TBS channel entitled, "Ryakudatsu Ai Abunai Onna (Despoiled Love Dangerous Woman)."

The single won the Grand Prize at the 30th Japan Cable Broadcast Awards and the Excellent Work Prize at the 39th Annual Japan Record Awards.

Other musicians in Japan like Kiyoshi Maekawa and Ayumi Nakamura made a cover of the song and even included those on their albums.
