Hailed as the Artist of the Year during this year's MTV Video Music Awards Japan (MTV VMAJ), Daichi Miura just proved that the Japanese music industry is not just dominated by dancing idols. 

Daichi Miura is a dancing songwriter under the record company, Avex. He started his music career with the group called Folder, from his alma mater, Okinawa Actors School. Aside from writing the lyrics for his own songs, he also choreographs the steps for his videos. 

He then launched his professional singing career in 2005 when he released the single, "Keep it Goin' On." To date, he has released 7 albums and 23 singles.
