Dai Hirai is a Japanese singer/songwriter under the pop and folk genre. His songs are inspired by Hawaiian music, and his signature ukulele notably distinguishes him from the other up-and-coming singers of J-Pop. His style was largely ‘Hawaiian’ with his long hair and dreadlocks, before he changed for a more acoustic tone.

The 26 year-old released more than 10 albums and was one of the most successful new comers in iTunes’ Japan Sound of 2012.  Dai Hirai has also performed at the 2011 Honolulu Festival, Hawaii’s largest music festival.
