Know the mysterious duo behind your favorite anime songs. This is ClariS. 

ClariS is a Japanese pop music idol duo consisting of two high school students, Clara and Karen. Their previous member was Alice who left in 2014 to focus on her studies. Clara and Alice, who were junior high school students from Hokkaido, began with singing covers and posting them on Niconico. They were then signed to SME Records and officially debuted with the single, Irony, in October 2010. Their songs are featured in the following anime series: Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Oreimo), Moyashimon Returns, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

In order to protect their identity so that the girls could focus on their studies, the duo was given pseudonyms. No official photos of them have been released. Instead, illustrators are employed to draw cartoon depictions of them. The members come from the same music school.
