Babymetal is a 3-girl Jpop metal idol band. Initially a subgroup from the idol group Sakura Gakuin, they continued to perform as a separate group after their lead singer "graduated" from the said music school.

Their music video for "Gimme Chocolate" became viral on Youtube and gained them international popularity. In September 2016, the group announced that they would be starring in a hybrid live-action animation series under Warner Bro's digital studio, Blue Ribbon Content.

Last January 11, they were the special guests of Metallica in their South Korean tour. Soon after, they opened the Guns n Roses Japan tour. This April, the metal babies will be supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers on their US tour.
