Starting in the industry at a young age, it was no wonder that Ayumi Hamasaki was able to earn the title Empress of Jpop, all for herself. But the road was not easy.

Starting out as a child model, she was not able to sustain her career in modelling due to her short height. She made a detour and created waves in the Japanese music industry. She signed up to the music Agency, Sun Music. She was later on discovered by Avex while singing at a karaoke in Shibuya. Her 3rd single, Trust made it to the Oricon Top 10 in 1998. She is also known as a fashion icon and has been repeatedly named by Oricon as the Most Fashionable Female Artist.
