Akira Ifukube is the man behind the music of the Japanese movie monsters and the classic Godzilla movies such as the original Godzilla in 1954, Mothra vs. Godzilla in 1964, and Godzilla vs. Destoroyah in 1995 including other great Japanese sci-fi movies like Rodan in 1956, The Mysterians in 1957 and The War of the Gargantus in 1966. Part of his work includes concert masterpieces like Japanese Rhapsody, Bellata Sinfonica and Sinfonia Tapkaara.


Because of his works, he is considered as one of the greatest film composers in history and one of the most respected composers in Japan since the 1950s.
