Eel is a delicacy in Japan and among the most expensive freshwater fish. The reasons for the exorbitant pricing is that eels aren't easy to grow. Workers feed eels with a slimy and sticky mixture of fishmeal,  wheat, soybean and fish oil. They require constant attention and care. Watch this documentary from Business Insider.
