While roses and chocolates were given to females in most parts of the world, here in Japan it was the boys and men who are recipients of these sweet food items. But apart from that, Valentine's Day in Japan is filled with that brown sugary confectionery that has become a staple item in pop culture during that date and on March 14, the one they called White Day. Heck, imagine that there was a time wherein 44,000 boxes of chocolates were given to an Anime character.
