The umeshu is a Japanese alcoholic drink made from the fruit of ume. Known for its English name, Japanese apricot, these plums or ume are then steeped into alcohol, while dashed with a bit of sugar. The resulting drink is a mixture of sweet and sour drink, containing around 10 to 15% alcohol. Because of the ume, this drink doesn't taste like alchohol and are actually like by non-alcohol drinkers. The Japanese has developed their own share of cocktails for this, including Umeshu on the Rocks, Umeshu Soda and Flaming Plum.
