The Japanese sweets industry has never been the same since 1991 when the company, Grapestone Co., has released one of Japan's more famous souvenirs, the Tokyo Banana.
With a factory in Tokorozawa, Saitama, the preparation process of this modified sweet banana is just simple. They make a puree out of the finest bananas in Japan. They will then bake that banana cream mixture into banana shaped sweets. The resulting sponge cake is then steamed to bring out a soft texture that is distinguishably Tokyo Banana. There had been a lot of flavors for this banana, including, caramel, chocolate, custard, anko and a lot more.
