Pan is the Japanese word for "bread." Melon Pan is one the more famous and sweet variants in a Japanese bakery. Also popular in Taiwan, China, and Latin America, the melon pan is made from a rich ordinary bread dough, covered with some tasty cookie dough on top. The cookie dough makes the rock melon or cantaloupe look possible. Initially, these breads are really not melon-flavored, but to go by the name, bread makers and bakers have eventually added bits of melon to materialize the flavor of this food called Melon Pan.
