Soba noodles is a Japanese dish made of buckwheat. The noodles have a toasty, nutty flavor. It tastes delicious and is served either hot or cold. Foreigners love to try eating this one, but most of them do it wrong.
Sakura Yogi, owner of the Soba-ya Restaurant, shows the right way of eating cold soba noodles. In this video they used the Zaru Soba, the restaurant's cold noodles with kizami nori or seaweed on top, cut scallions, wasabi and zaruji or dipping sauce. The right way to eat this is first, you have to put the scallions and wasabi on the zaruji or dipping sauce. After mixing it well, never pour them on the noodles. Just dip a right amount of noodles on it. Once you're done with eating the noodles, the server will give you a soba yu or soba water. Pour it onto your dipping sauce to transform it into your soup!
