Strawberry shortcake is a really popular food item in Japan during the Christmas season. They are actually famous for couples expressing their love for each other. But because of Japan's decreasing population, couples seem to be also decreasing in number. But the noodle company Myojo Foods, the creator of the Ippei-chan brand of instant yakisoba noodles, made a solution to the problem. The company thought, "why not just eat your strawberry shortcake on yakisoba?" Hence, in December 2016, the Strawberry Shortcake Instant Yakisoba Noodles are released in the market.

According to the creator of the video, these noodles actually smell more like dessert than a main dish.
