Have you seen those fish-shaped breads in animes or movies or Jdramas? They are called taiyakis. They are common snacks in Japan, not only for school children but also for adults. Due to the popularity of the snack, the Japanese has created a variety of fillings to satisfy the sweet teeth of its patrons. The most common filling is the red bean paste, which are actually sweetened azuki beans. Another hit filling is the sweet potato. If one wants to go with the classic taste, there are also the cheese, chocolate and custard taiyakis.
