Shogayaki is a line of Japanese dishes known for its main flavoring, ginger. Shoga is actually the Japanese word for "ginger," and yaki is the Japanese term for "grill" or "fry." Shogayaki can actually be beef or pork, as long as ginger is the main flavoring. But the pork version has been so popular that when one hears the word "shogayaki," one can infer that it is pork. Tonkatsu is actually the most popular Japanese pork dish, and shogayaki is the second. This dish can also be eaten cold so it is usually served in bento boxes.
