Sapporo, one of the key cities in Northern Japan, is known for having the best noodle dishes in the country. The capital of Hokkaido Prefecture is a where Japan and its people experience winter at its finest; thus, paving the way for having some hot dishes such as the country's popular noodle soup. Its history goes back to 1951, wherein it was only in this city where the gansho (original) ramen can be found.

There are approximately 17 shops in a single 40-meter long alley in the city that is known for serving ramen in their respective creative, delicious ways. And Sapporo is famous for a dish called Miso Ramen after being once introduced at the Hokkaido Fair.
