Alcohol from Japan? That should be sake.
Sake is the traditional Japanese wine made from rice. To produce quality sake, Japan has devised techniques to extract the most savory wine from thebest rice in the country. After the rice from the best prefectures are harvested, they are then polished until they have the purest white color. The white rice will now be fermented. But the fermentation process is different from the procedure of Western wines wherein the alcohol is extracted from the fruit itself. The rice is actually brewed, with a process same with producing beer.
