Raindrops keep falling on my head, Oh, but now it's a cake, it's a Raindrop cake, a type of mochi, is called Mizu Shingen Mochi in Japanese. Other's humorously call it a breast implant cake because it's very transparent similar to silicone gel implants. On the other hand, the mochi jelly is also called raindrop as you can see through it and it wiggles.
To make one, here's a recipe:
1 gram agar agar (Telephone brand as used in the video)
1 gram sugar
Filtered water
250 cc of filtered water
Directions
1. In a medium saucepan, add 450 of filtered water
2. Add the sugar, mix and dissolve
3. Add the agar agar
4. Warm the solution
5. Check if the agar agar is dissolved
6. Pour the mixture into the mold (a half-sphere) or sphere.
7. The jelly should wiggle when shaken and transparent enough to see your hand underneath.
It's served with Kinako (roasted soybean flour) and Kuromitso (a dark kind of syrup)
