Each country has their very own signature dishes that they prepare everytime the year ends, to welcome the new one.
Every new year in Japan, the osechi ryouri is a kind of feast food prepared specially for that day. The tradition of preparing such dishes have been passed down from the Heian Period in Japan. That time was approximately from the year 794 to 1185.
But these are not your usual boxed feast that can be confused with bento. The boxes of the osechi ryouri are more special. They are called jubako and look more festive than the usual bento box.
