Yoshoku is a kind of Japanese dish that is strongly influenced by the West. One of the best examples of Western food that has been strongly "Japanized" is the ever famous omurice. This Japanese cuisine actually came from the Western omelette. What distinguishes it from other egg dishes is that it is actually stuffed with a sumptuous offering of Japanese fried rice. This kind of fried rice is known to consist of a lot of meat, pork or chicken, generous cuts of vegetables and flavored in broth. It is then topped with ketchup or a tasty sauce of your choice.
