The Japanese croquette, or the korokke as it is commonly called is a staple snack that any kid would know by heart. It is typically made with potatoes and meat. However, this little shop in Togoshi Ginza takes it a step further by making oden croquettes.
Togoshi Ginza is pretty much the street food capital of Tokyo City. Along its roster of food items is the Goto Kamaboko Shop that specializes on oden, a hot pot of potatoes, fish cakes, daikon radish, beef tendon, and tofu, all stewed in dashi broth. They take their specialty and wrap it in a potato base to make the deep-fried croquette. It tastes like a bite-sized, crunchy version of their homey winter snack. The oden croquette is sold for 60 cents each.
