Bizarre has a lot of times been associated with Japan. If it is cool, it probably came from Japan.

When it comes to food, there had been a lot of dishes and items that we can say are "Japanized." One of them is the Neri Ame. Neri is the Japanese word for "paste" or "to knead" while ame is the Japanese term for "candy." 

One packet of neri ame consists of a sweet and fruity paste and a pair of chopsticks. As demonstrated in this video by Candyhouse Ken, to eat the candy, you must "play" with it first. Put the paste on one end of the chopsticks and knead the candy until it changes its color. After that, you have just created your very own neri ame.
