Rice, being Japan's staple food, has since been going beyond the limits of a rice bowl in a dining table. Rice cakes have ever been invented and the Japanese had became creative when it comes to these sweets. Mamemochi is one of the rice cake variants that shops had innovated on. Mamemochis are usually stuffed with the Japanese favorite red bean paste. Another variant would be, instead of stuffing the red bean paste, the sticky rice is wrapped with the red bean paste. Some patisseries even become more creative by putting almonds, chestnuts and other ingredients in your favorite mamemochi.
