An essentially deep fried food on a stick, Kushiage is considered as the Japanese food of the masses and has taken the local’s taste bud like a whirlwind.
A type of battered meat and vegetables skewered and then deep-fried to perfection, Kushiage can be found all over Japan. The most popular one however, is found in Shin-Sekai neighborhood of Osaka.
Conveniently served on a stick, you can give it a dip in a sauce before enjoying the drool-worthy snack on-the-go! Just be careful though and beware of double dipping, as it is impolite to do so and it will definitely get you charged extra.
There is a wide range of meats and veggies that they serve, including lotus root, shrimp, bacon, and cheese. And every single one of them is a must try.
