Kirin is known to be one of the most successful beer brands in Japan. One of its beers, the Kirin Lager Beer, is said to be one of the oldest beers in Japan, which has been brewing and distributing in the country since 1888. Another beer that is famous in Japan is the Kirin Ichiban Shibori. Kiring also holds the top-seller title in the happoshy category or the low-malt beer category. It is called the Kirin Tanrei.

Known as the Kirin Company Limited, it is a member of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
