Christmas has been a worldwide happy event, celebrated by families in every walks of life. Japan, because of not being a Christian country, has not really celebrated December 25, until 1974. It was the year when Kentucky Fried Chicken, more popularly known as KFC, introduced a new marketing campaign in Japan. It was called the Kurisumasu ni wa Kentakkii, or Kentucky for Christmas, wherein they introduced a party barrel in KFC. The campaign surprisingly was accepted so well that it had been the start of Japan's kentucky obsession every December. The idea was credited to Takeshi Okawara, the manager of the first KFC in the country, who heard two foreigners dreaming of turkey for Christmas food.
