Sukiyaki is a hot pot style dish that is known popularly in Japan. It consists of meat which is slowly cooked or simmered alongside vegetables and other ingredients at the table.
This food is similar to shabu-shabu, another staple in Japanese hot pot dish style (nabemono) wherein the vegetables and meat are cooked in the pot on the table with a variety of condiments such as sugar, soy sauce, and mirin broth.
