Tonkatsu is fried pork or other meat cutlets coated in bread crumbs that is deep-fried. The word Tonkatsu means (豚) or ton for pig and (カツ) or katsu. It's a short form of Katsuretsu or カツレツ. The deep-fried, coated and breaded cutlets are served with tomato slices, parsley, shredded cabbage or cucumber slices.
The meat cutlets are then poured with tonkatsu sauce that is made with ketchup, sugar, oyster sauce, and worcestershire sauce.
Types
* Kastsu-sand - Made as a sandwich filling and served with tonkatsu sauce or Worcestershire sauce.
* Katsu-curry - A tonkatsu served with curry
* Katsudon - A tonkatsu cooked with egg, broth, onions and served with rice bowl.
* Menchikatsu - A minced meat patty that is breaded with panko crumbs and then deep-fried. It's either made with ground pork or beef.
* Salmon katsu - A salmon steak fried

Teishoku is a meal served with rice, soup, tonkatsu, lemon, and shredded raw cabbage.
Katsu bento box - served in a bento box with pickles, salads, sauce and rice.
