In Japan, there is giri choco, also known as the obligation chocolate, is the gift usually given by women to men during Valentine's day. Most of the women make the chocolate, some buy inexpensive chocolates that women give to their male co-workers, casual acquaintances, and others to whom they have no romantic attachment.

Men return the favor by giving them cookies and other sweets on March 14, also known as White Day.
