7-Eleven is not the only convenience store in the world. Japan has now its share of a convenience store that would soon dominate the world. Starting out in Saitama Prefecture, Family Mart has been giving convenience to the world since 1973. It is now the second largest convenience store chain in Japan, with just a slight difference from 7-Eleven. The convenience store franchise has since been dominating Asia, with Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, China and Vietnam. There had also been stores in the United States. In 2009, they already have a total of 22,444 stores worldwide.
