If you've ever gone diving or snorkeling, you may have encountered those dark, round spiky objects which hurt a lot if you step on them. While you may want to avoid them under-the-sea, you will want to eat them on land.

Those objects are called sea urchins, and in Japan, its gonads are considered as a culinary delicacy. It is commonly called uni. Uni is usually eaten fresh as sashimi, or as sushi served with sauce and wasabi. Take one bite and you can taste the freshness of the sea as it bursts in your mouth. It has a creamy, slightly sweet flavor. More than the taste, it's also extremely nutritious, being packed with protein and zinc. Another bonus? It's an aphrodisiac, perfect for an exotic date night.
