Sometimes when we watch anime, we can’t help but want to taste the snacks the characters are eating. If you’ve watched Doraemon, you’ve probably wanted to try his favorite food, Dorayaki!

Dorayaki is a Japanese confection that is made with Azuki red bean paste sandwiched between two pancake-like patties. These patties are actually made from Castella or Japanese sponge cake. The current shape of it was invented in 1914.

If you want to make your own version, the ingredients are mostly simple. For the patties, you need flour, eggs, sugar, milk, and oil. Just add the sweet azuki bean paste in between and you’re all set to enjoy the deliciousness of Dorayaki!
